Biography:
My name is Eloise, or Ellie for short. I'm an older girl (we think I'm 8 years old) who likes naps, & snuggling with/being close to my people. I also sometimes get bursts of puppy energy, & then I love tug-of-war, chasing in the backyard, & rolling in the grass. Outside & on walks I want to sniff everything! I do best in a calm environment with my humans close by. I don't mind cats or other old female dogs, but I am not comfortable around puppies or male dogs & may need more supervised socialization with them. My back legs/hips are a little weak, so it is difficult for me to go up & down stairs a lot. I'm scared of water, rain, thunderstorms, & fireworks, so I dislike bathtime, as well as getting my claws trimmed, but I have never bitten anyone. My favorite time of day is when I'm with my people, & when I feel really good I roll over for Ellie-belly rubs (extra vigorous & loving)! I need to go outside every 4 hours to do my business, and I currently take thyroid medication. I am spayed, microchipped, and up to date on all required vaccines, and currently take Simparica Trio for flea/tick/heartworm prevention--I have also tested negative for heartworm. If you have lots of time on your hands and are looking for a loyal companion, please consider taking me in.
