Pet’s Information

Pet’s Name: Jon Snow

Biography:

Jon is an 8 year old male cat who is healthy, up to date on all his shots, neutered, doesn't mark or scratch furniture and is stunningly beautiful. He is also very sweet and very vocal. He will do anything for treats (tricks, etc.). He has been healthy all his life but has a lot of little quirks (doesn't like large TVs so he avoids them when they're on, doesn't like loud noises or yelling, etc.). He does not like to be pet but likes to rub up against you to say hello and likes to be near you wherever you are (for half the day. The other half of the day he's sunning near a window). The no petting thing can be overcome. He lets me pet him but no one else. I think a new owner would be able to break down those walls and be able to pet him like me. But they'd need to be patient.
His biggest challenge is the growing aggression toward his sister, so he would likely need a home with no other cats or cats who are more dominant. It truly kills me to give him up but they can no longer live together. I am scared to keep them together much longer and hoping someone can help me place him at least temporarily. If I cannot find other options, I am starting to consider the unthinkable-- surrendering him to the shelter where he will most likely be euthanized. Anyone who can help me avoid this awful fate, please reach out. I am willing to provide a years worth of food and all the toys/treats you can carry to help him find a new home.

Reason for re-homing:

Jon is an 8 year old male cat who needs a new home. He is healthy, up to date on all his shots, neutered, doesn't mark or scratch furniture and is stunningly beautiful. However, the reason I need to re-home him is that he is growing increasingly aggressive toward his sister. They were litter mates and he's much bigger than her (16 pounds). For most of their lives, it was just dominance and displacement, but the last six months has seen an increase in his aggression toward her. He scruffs her sometimes but he now gets rough enough that he actually bites her and breaks the skin. I've tried a lot of ways to calm them, separate them, etc., but nothing is working. Much as it kills me to give him up (I love him. He's very sweet when he's not being a jerk to her), they can no longer live together. I am scared to keep them together much longer and hoping someone can help me place him at least temporarily. He probably will do best in a home with no other cats.
