Reason for re-homing:
This is our dog Maisy. She is a Pitbull/ Australian Shepard mix (So we were told), and she is 7 years old.
She Currently lives with Me, my wife, and our other male dog and we have had her since she was a few weeks old.
Unfortunately, Maisy is not great with kids and my wife and I just had our first baby.
Maisy does best with Women but does okay with men. Ideally, we would like to re-home Maisy with a single woman or a couple that has time to give her the attention she deserves.
Maisy is a bit of a troubled dog and has some past trauma, when she was 2 years old her and her brother got out of our yard during Christmas and were lost for 3 days. We are not sure exactly everything she went through while she was lost but her brother was hit and killed by a Trax train, and we do know that she was hit by a car before she found her way home. Physically Maisy made a full recovery and is in great health, but she has been dealing with some form of trauma ever since. She no longer likes to be around other dogs, she gets skittish and tries to avoid them and if they come near she will nip and try to get away.
Maisy is a very sweet loving dog that loves to run at the park and cuddle.
She is a great car dog and sleeps on long rides.
She loves camping and going on walks.
She is spayed and up to date on all vaccines.
She is medium size and weighs about 60 lbs.
She does get weary and defensive of her yard or home when meeting new people but tends to warm up quick.
She has never bitten anyone and loves other dogs once she warms up to them (although this does take time for her)
We successfully put her in Boarding about 2 times per year when we go on vacation and they always tell us that she tends to keep to herself and just avoid the other dogs.
