Biography:

Olive. I adopted her when she was 4 months old, as she showed up on a friend’s front porch who could not take her in. During the first year I developed allergies, and hoped to get them under control, but they continue to get worse with time.

Olive loves to fetch certain toys. Enjoys her kitty condo and playing hide and seek around corners. She would thrive in a home with loving attentive adults or older kids. She does well with friendly pups and she does well with calm cats, but she does not like to play rough with playful cats, so if you have a playful kitty or a rough pup she may not be a good match.

When she is unhappy, or when an animal is not a good match for her, she becomes distant and tries to stay hidden.

Wears a seresto flea collar. Does not do outdoors, although she does love an open screened window or balcony. She has a broken rib that did not heal correctly so it is a big risk to let her outside. Jumps on chairs and loves her kitty condo but cannot jump high enough to  climb onto counters.

Once a connection is formed, she prefers to climb into bed next to you on some nights. She is such a sweet baby who enjoys conversations when her human talks (meows) back. She does like to play hide and seek around corners and sometimes she nibbles or slaps.

Olive has healthy boundaries and will let you know when she’s done being pet. If you don’t pick up on the cue, she may grab your hand. This is play and fun for her kitty instincts, but it can be surprising as she has claws. She doesn’t scratch furniture often, but it does come with the territory of owning a kitty. Declawing is not an option.
