Owner’s Name:Abby Dalin
Pet’s Name: Oscar
Oscar is a fun-loving, loyal and sweet companion. He has no significant medical history and is up to date with vaccines and heartworm/flea tick prevention. Oscar loves a game of fetch or a long walk; with regular exercise he is generally calm and relaxed. In the past, he has engaged in resource guarding from time to time which resulted in a bite in 2018; however, once we identified the issue it has been managed until recently when our young child snuck up on him while he was eating which also resulted in a bite. Oscar is good around older children but has struggled to adapt to having younger, more unpredictable children around. We are devastated to have to part with him and just want him to find a home where he can have the love and attention he deserves in his senior years.
Date of Birth: September 4, 2013
Color/Markings: Black fur
Re-Home Fee: $100.00
Reason for re-homing:
Oscar is a happy, enthusiastic and energetic 9 year-old retriever. He was rescued from a shelter ~8 years ago and has been a sweet, loving, and loyal companion. Sadly, Oscar has had a difficult time adapting to a new child in our home, and we no longer have the time or lifestyle to dedicate the necessary behavioral training to help him adjust.
Although he has started to slow down in his older age, Oscar still loves walks, playing fetch, and any kind of ball or bone (and treats!). He is an excellent cuddler and loves attention and to be near his companion's side.
Oscar would do best in a calmer home environment with someone who can give him he time, attention, and love that he deserves in his senior years.
