Pet’s Name: Pila
Biography:
Pila is an absolute joy and great family pet. We have traveled all over the US with her, she is a lovely running companion and loves to snuggle. She sleeps in our bed and doesn't move all night. We brought her into the family 5 years ago from a rescue, at which time we already had rescued another female Malinois. In the past year, aggression between the two females have amped up (and our older girl has been hurt several times) and have been advised that this is not fixable. This is a heart breaking decision for our family, we are quite attached to Pila. She has high pray drive, has had many sessions with a private trainer to try to curb. The perfect household for her is active, has one member of the family stay or work from home, no other pets at all, and a fenced in yard or land. She runs up to 3-4 miles a day or comes along on a bike ride. She will react to other dogs on the street when running, but is completely able to be re-directed. She is ok around large submissive dogs, but again, I wouldn't want to risk what is happening to us, to happen to another family pet. If we thought there was any way to try to keep both, we would. After working in rescue for over a decade, the best quality of life for Pila will be on her own, being the only pet in the home.
