Owner’s Name:Tammy Vigiletti
Pet’s Name: Summer
Summer is a goofy, high energy 50lb, 11 month old puppy. Who needs her "forever" home. Last September my cousin found her on a trail up in Apple Valley. She was left abandoned at approximately 2 weeks old. He took her in, bottle fed her into a healthy, high spirited pup. He was living with my 80 year old Aunt. Since he worked a lot, he crate trained her. So getting your rest after a full day of fun filled activities will be no problem.
Recently he got a new job and had to move away. She was just to much for my Aunt to handle.
On June 6th, we took her in to foster her. We had her spayed, microchipped, and is up to date on her vaccines. We also have her enrolled in Banfields Wellness plan. It's a monthly $75 plan, that we highly recommended keeping her on. We think she is a lab German shepherd mix, she's a very pretty dog.
We wish we could keep her, but we already have a very busy home. We have three dogs of our own. One 7 yr 80lb Goldendoodle, One 16 yr 15 lb senior puppy with special needs, and lastly our 11 lb, 2 yr little spit fire. So a now Summer has been properly doggie socialized. We have introduced her to the dog park, she gets playtime all day with our other dogs. My husband daily takes her to the local park to run off leash and play chase. She also loves the beach. Will easily swim across the waist high ocean water with my husband. Funny thing she hates bathes. My stepson, takes her on runs around the neighborhood with his skateboard. And we all go on at least 3 walks daily. We feed all our dogs a very healthy homemade food. She has super healthy poops. She'll always greet you with wagging tail and a toy in her mouth. She goes crazy for new toys, balls and LOVES her nylabones. I've bought six of them so my other dogs can also enjoy. But she doesn't want anyone else to have them. I would say this habit should be worked on. A bit stingy-teritorial and wants them all to herself. She's used to getting up on the couch and bed. She thinks she is a 10 lb lap dog. And just wants to give you a 100 kisses, hold onto you with her paw while giving them. She flips over to give you her belly and gives you gentle nibbles and hind leg silly kicks. Like a cat!
I call my stepsons bedroom the "bone-yard", ha ha!
She is very quiet, she does not bark at passersby, cars, or dogs. She only talks and barks when she is playing with the other dogs. She's very smart. Knows sit, stay, still needs more help down command. Confident with patience and training she be a great addition to your family. Because of her unbridled strength, kinda clumsy, yet intentionally affectionate behavior she likes to rub up on you, like a cat, and run through your legs unannounced. Best fit is a highly active family with teenagers.
