Pet’s Information

Pet’s Name: Butterscotch

Biography:

Butterscotch

This is Butterscotch:
- sweet mischievous boy between 6-9 months, unneutered male
- He’s a beautiful domesticated bunny with a playful and curious personality that likes cuddles
- He tolerates being held and petted, likes being reassured, loves playing and exploring
- cannot be around other male or female rabbits bc he is not neutered, does not get along
- very curious and playful, he loves to dig and hop around exploring. Not shy.
- he will need to be litter box trained more although I have started but he will need continued training.
I’ve had him 3 weeks. He is healthy, no medical issues. He has not been to the vet, but 2 of the other rabbits have that were in the same hutch- no ear mites, stool sample normal. He tolerates nail trimming, brushing, holding, and cuddling. He’s not done growing! He eats hay, pellets, and loves special treats of cilantro, cucumbers, sliced celery, romaine lettuce, and sometimes carrots.
Background: I rescued him from a neighbor who had 10 rabbits in a small outdoor communal hutch. They were not getting along well and had never been outside of the hutch before.
Medical stuff: he will need to go to an exotic animal vet such as Middle Creek or Animal Kingdom. There is a new rabbit vaccine, RHDV2, which is limited supply at vets but is recommended for rabbits to prevent hemorrhaging. A neuter voucher is available through SPCA for $150 but the vet is currently booked out until Aug. Other vet has earlier availability but does not accept $150 voucher, I am happy to provide more info so you can choose.
