Pet’s Information

Pet’s Name: Biggie

Biography:

Biggie is a 10-year-old rescue who has been part of our family since we adopted him from PAWS Chicago in 2016 after he was found as a stray. He is truly the sweetest and most loyal boy. Like many rescue dogs, Biggie takes a little time to build trust with new people, but once he knows you’re his person, he’ll be your shadow and your best friend.

Biggie is happiest living a simple life. He loves long naps, soft beds, cuddling with his people, relaxing in freshly cut grass, and going for peaceful walks. Tennis balls are his favorite thing in the world, and if you give him a stuffed toy, he’ll proudly work until he finds the squeaker. Every once in a while, his playful side takes over and he’ll surprise you with a burst of zoomies that never gets old.

He’s a calm, laid-back dog who prefers a quiet home over a busy one. Most days, you’ll find him sleeping, sunbathing, chewing on a toy, or happily following you from room to room just to be close.

Biggie is house-trained, e-collar trained, and knows commands including sit, stay, down, and place. He is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on all vaccinations.

Biggie has seasonal allergies during the warmer months that occasionally affect his skin and ears. They are well managed with Apoquel, and he cannot eat chicken due to a food sensitivity. He also takes Reconcile to help manage his anxiety.

Biggie would thrive as the only pet in a calm, adult-only home. While it may be possible to acclimate him to another dog with time, patience, and proper introductions, we believe he will be happiest as the only pet. We are unsure how he is with children, so we feel an adult household or one with older, dog-savvy children would be the best fit. He would love a quieter neighborhood with grass, parks, or peaceful walking paths where he can enjoy the outdoors.

Our biggest wish for Biggie is to find someone who understands that trust takes time. If you’re patient, kind, and willing to let him settle in at his own pace, you’ll gain one of the most loyal companions you could ever ask for. He has so much love to give, and he deserves a home where he can spend his golden years feeling safe, loved, and part of the family.
