Biography:

Charley was born in a puppy breeding facility in Dec 2014 and bought by a young lady in early 2015.  He was neutered at 6 months.  He spent his entire life up to age 10 with the same owner in a home.  A major family upheaval due to a house fire brought more people and pets (cats) to the house placing Charley in a tenuous position.  We adopted him in late Oct 2024. As former Lab owners, we expected at age 10 that he would not have an energy level that we could not handle.  We underestimated Charley.  He loves to walk!  Subsequent medical developments affecting both of us physically has made it impossible to meet Charley's needs.

Charley is in good physical heath.  He has had several vet exams since we adopted him and is up to date on all inoculations. He has some arthritis in his rear legs but it does not affect him in any manner and is not sensitive to touch.  He is not on any vet medication except monthly heart-worm tablets. Personality wise he is a laid back dog who sleeps a lot.  He loves people.  He is well mannered and trustworthy.  He can be left alone for 4-5 hours without concern or being kenneled.  He has no bad habits and has not been on the furniture.  He rides well in the car.  He is a picky eater which was mentioned by his previous owner.

The only behavioral challenge is his desire to meet other dogs.  He is very strong and will pull you over to meet the dog.  He does need work on his leash manners. He shows no aggressive traits and wants to play. We have avoided allowing him to meet other dogs since we do not know how they may react.  The best home for Charley would be with someone who will love and care for him as family.  Charley would probably be well amenable to sharing  a household with another pup.  He is just a Good Dog!

We are aging owners facing physical limitations which prevent us from giving Charley the daily walking exercise he needs and greatly enjoys. It makes Charley's day.
