Biography:

Freya is an incredibly sweet and playful dog. She’s about 5 years old now, and we adopted her from Chicago Canine Rescue when she was around 9 months old. She’s been a wonderful companion to us over the years—affectionate, loving, and full of energy. She gets along well with most people and dogs she meets, although she can be territorial in our condo, especially when guests come over. With the right person who’s patient with her, she’s learned to relax and is much more comfortable over time.

While she’s had some issues with other dogs in the past and can sometimes be dominant, we’ve worked with her on this, and she’s made progress. She’s currently on Gabapentin, Fluoxetine, and Clonidine, but we believe that with the right environment—like having a yard or being around other dogs—she might not need all of them long-term.

Freya is up to date on all her vaccines & heartworm meds. Freya is trained in commands like sit, lay down, stay, and leave it, and she loves playing fetch and learning new tricks. She’s also fine being left alone for several hours, and when she’s not playing, she loves cuddling and being close to her people.
