Pet’s Name: Hayley
Biography:
Hayley is a ten-year-old Boxer/American Staffordshire Terrier mix with a soft, tan and white coat and a heart as warm as her coloring. Born around April of 2015, and weighing around 45 pounds, she is a medium-sized girl with a deeply affectionate nature. Hayley is a true companion dog—always happiest when nestled close, sharing her love through gentle nuzzles and an eagerness to connect. She thrives on calm walks, peaceful cuddles, and quiet time by your side. A lover of stuffed toys and balls, Hayley enjoys bursts of playful fun followed by cozy relaxation. She knows an impressive list of commands including sit, lay down, leave it, stay, stand, drop it, wait, and paw. Although she has never had formal training, her responsiveness and intelligence shine through.
Hayley is spayed and vaccinated with the following up-to-date vaccines; Rabies, DHPP, Leptospirosis up-to-date
Annual 4Dx Test (Heartworm, Lyme, Ehrlichia, Anaplasma) – Negative as of 06/28/2024
Fecal Exam and Bloodwork – Completed 6/28/2024 with no abnormalities reported
She has been given monthly NexGard Plus for flea, tick, and heartworm prevention and also has received Tri-Heart Plus for heartworm protection. Hayley eats a ProPlan Sensitive Skin and Stomach formula, as she has a history of skin rashes and chronic paw irritation (pododermatitis). She’s had intermittent ear infections and was most recently treated with Animax Ointment in June 2024.
Past prescriptions include Prednisone, Citalopram (discontinued due to lethargy), Cephalexin, and topical sprays like TrizChlor. Her veterinary records span ten
years and reflect consistent, attentive care with thorough diagnostics and symptom management.
Hayley is a gentle and emotionally intuitive girl with moderate energy and a preference for peaceful surroundings. She can be selective with other dogs and has shown reactivity when approached by unfamiliar dogs or when overstimulated. She’s not had enough exposure to cats for a reliable assessment, but she generally does well when introduced slowly and respectfully. Hayley is affectionate with adults and has shown tender behavior toward the family’s infant. However, she becomes anxious in chaotic settings and may react with warning yips or mild nips when startled or touched unexpectedly. Her behavior reflects a need for guardians who can read her cues and give her space when needed. She thrives on consistency and benefits from being approached gently and on her terms.
Hayley is currently living in a home with three small children, which has proven to be overwhelming for her. Her ideal environment would be calm and predictable—free from frequent loud noises or fast-paced activity. She does well when left alone in familiar settings, though she may bark when in new or stimulating environments. She would be happiest as the only pet in a home without young children. A fenced yard is not required but would be a nice plus for safe, outdoor enjoyment. She does not rely on a crate and is comfortable sleeping on her own in quiet spaces.
