Pet’s Information
Pet’s Name: Inky
Biography:
Very rewarding opportunity to adopt a lovely cat with special needs!
This is Inky. She's been through a lot, but is one of the most loving little cats around. She was found in the woods underweight, deaf, missing several teeth, and arthritic in 2024. Everyone believed she was a kitten due to her size, but once being looked over by a Vet, it was discovered that she could be 10+ years old. In March of 2025 she was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism (requiring daily medication). Despite all this she has always shown lots of love for people. When she’s awake she enjoys following people around, laying near them, and demanding cheek rubs. She’ll also lay on your lap if given the chance. She has never shown aggression towards people.
Because of her limited mobility and hearing, Inky is fearful of most other animals, making it best for her to be in a home with either plenty of space or without other cats or dogs. She’s currently receiving methimazole twice daily as well as joint supplements.
Requirements for adoption:
Must be willing to sign an agreement stating you will not declaw, let outdoors, surrendered or re-homed Inky. You must keep up with her medical care and provide for her basic needs.
Breed: Domestic Shorthair
Gender: Female
Date of Birth: January 1, 2015
Color/Markings: Black
Weight: 8lbs.
Size: Small
Re-Home Fee: $50.00
Reason for re-homing:
Although we love Inky and she is a very good cat, it has been over a year since we took her in, and she is still stressed by our other (much younger) cats. This has created an environment where none of our cats can freely roam the house. We believe Inky deserve much more attention and peace as she gets on in age, and therefore have made the decision to seek out someone who can provide that for her.
