Pet’s Name: Kennedy
Biography:
Kennedy is a survivor. I rescued her in 2018 from a shelter in Rockport where she had endured 140 mph winds in an outdoor cage during Hurricane Harvey. That was in addition to whatever abuse she endured before she was taken to the shelter. But Kennedy is resilient. She became a treasured member of my pack of pups and has been a faithful friend to me for these past 6 years.
Not only has Kennedy healed so much in this time, but she has been pivotal in my own healing. She has helped me feel safe while living alone in my home and kept me company on countless solo walks and hikes. She’s joined me on trips to state parks and sat with me next to lakes enjoying sunsets. She’s snuggled with me while I cried and brought so much joy into my life.
As Kennedy has gotten older, she has grown to be less tolerant of smaller and high-energy dogs. She likes a peaceful, loving home. High-energy dog situations stress her out, so I believe she would do best in either a one-dog household or one with only big dogs.
Kennedy is 6 years old, most likely a Dutch Shepherd mix, and 75 lbs. She is spayed, and is fully up to date with vaccinations, heartworm prevention, and monthly flea+tick meds. She loves to just lounge around the house and would do anything for a carrot, her favorite treat. She is great on a leash and is very well-behaved.
I am deeply committed to finding Kennedy a loving home where she can continue to thrive and be cherished. I would be grateful for any assistance or resources you could provide to help rehome her. If there are any potential adopters or if you could help spread the word within your network, I would greatly appreciate it. I am also available to answer any questions or provide more information about Kennedy.
