7-Year-Old Female Black Shorthair Polydactyl
Midnight is a sweet, sensitive, and occasionally dramatic kitty looking for an attentive companion. She thrives on routine and deep connection. While she is incredibly chill and affectionate in a calm environment, she can become anxious easily. She needs a patient human who understands that earning her trust will take time and effort, but is well worth it.
Once she feels safe, Midnight transforms into a playful, demanding, and deeply loving companion. She is a lap cat who loves to curl up between my legs and she has quirky habits like sitting on the bathroom sink while I brush my teeth to demand kisses. She is an emotional anchor who will instinctually comfort me whenever I am feeling down and happily keep me company while I work from home. Her favorite game is when I slide treats across the floor for her to chase!
The Ideal Home:
Midnight will flourish with an attentive owner(s) who spends plenty of time at home. She should have a calm sanctuary with no small children or other animals. She tends to retreat and isolate around other animals and commotion. Because she is naturally wary of strangers, she needs a "safe space" (like a dedicated closet or spare bedroom) where she can retreat and decompress until she feels secure. She adapts well to spacious apartment life or a home with a backyard. If you enjoy quiet evenings with a good book or your favorite TV show, she is the perfect match.
Habits:
She has a perfect bathroom record. Just make sure she always has access to a litter box or backyard. She is gentle on furniture, but I also keep her claws trimmed with scratching posts nearby. She occasionally likes to knead on carpets and rugs, but a snap of my fingers will remind her and she stops. She has a love for digging in dirt, so large potted plants may need safeguards. She also respects kitchen countertops, but initial guidance and occasional reminders may be necessary. All in all, she is an exceptionally well behaved cat.
Her Routine & Care:
Midnight is a creature of habit who loves to be pampered. Her care routine includes wet food twice a day, daily brushing, nail clippings, and frequent playtime. She is an excellent communicator who will adorably remind you of her needs, so if she starts acting like a spaz, that is her communicating something via cat charades. She will lead you and point to what she wants…usually treats. She is highly food motivated. Despite this, she doesn’t overeat so there is no need to regulate her food portions.
Why She Is Available:
We are heartbroken to be writing this. We are entering a new chapter of life involving extensive travel, and we know Midnight’s sensitive nature would not cope well with the instability. Love and adoration are all she has ever known. We are committed to finding someone who can offer her the same level of devotion she is accustomed to.
