Pet’s Information

Pet’s Name: Mussa

Biography:

I adopted her in November 2024 from Montgomery county MD animal services. It breaks my heart to give her away. Her original owner brought her from Mexico, had one litter of full breed Malinois. Her cauliflower ear resulted from a poorly executed surgical intervention to treat an abscess. He had to surrender her because he had to move to a small apartment that did not allow dogs — he had 2 at the time: Mussa and a beagle. Despite that she does not get along with other dogs and should be on leash at all times or let loose in an enclosed space.

*******

Mussa is a great dog. Overall, she is fairly chill tempered for a Malinois. She loves the couch as much as catching a tennis ball. She's obedient, very well house trained, and loves people's company. But she doesn't get along with other dogs. She should be leashed on walks at all times as she tends to react aggressively to certain dogs or tries to get away from others — avoidance strategies are best. She would chase squirrels and deer if allowed — she can run!  We go on very long, fast walks.

She is very affectionate and loves to be petted. Once she knows she's about to go out on a walk or play, she revs up and gets excited. That's when her obedience and willingness to please are such great qualities that make her easy to handle with firm kindness. She's not particularly food oriented but I wouldn't leave food on counters. She knows how to get on her hind legs to investigate...

I don't let her on my bed. She has her own bed, in my bedroom. Her original owner told me that her cauliflower ear resulted from a poorly executed surgical intervention to treat an abscess. She weighs about 60 lbs, is spayed, tattooed, microshipped, healthy, and current on all her shots.
