Pet’s Name: Pancake
Biography:
History:
Pancake was rescued at 6 months old with a shattered limb. She has lived with us for 3 years while receiving training and full medical attention. She is a joy to take for walks and play with but can be anxious and reactive in certain situations. We have provided all of her amputation surgeries, vaccinations, training, and boarding for the time she has been with us.
At Home:
She is gentle with the adults and teenage kids at home. She is smart and picks up commands quickly. She has shown no food protection aggression, and is fed regularly by many members of the household. She enjoys playing with toys on the floor with her humans and running in the back yard. She can be anxious with strangers in her home, but has shown that she can learn to accept other people in her space. She is crate trained and we use the crate to avoid negative interactions while she is learning to accept company visiting. She understands boundaries and learned quickly what furniture or areas of the house she is allowed access and what is off limits.
Socialization:
She goes to dog daycare once a week and boards with other dogs when I’m out of town. She enjoys playing with other dogs and being part of a pack. She can be reactive to other dogs when on a walk, though this is improving with training.
Training:
She is completely house broken and has learned to use a doorbell button. She knows many commands and practices daily, doing commands / trick practice at all meal times. She walks really well with minimal leash pulling and lots of attention to her handler. She has a AKC Canine Good Citizen certificate and continues to improve. She can be reactive to other dogs while on a walk.
Other Animals:
She has never lived with cats or other small animals. She does enjoy sniffing out moles in the yard and chasing squirrels. We believe she will do well in a household with other dogs, or by herself. She has never lived with kids under 10.
Pancake is a cute, happy, and well behaved dog who takes commands and training easily. She is food/treat motivated and responds extremely well to positive training methods. She struggles with anxiety over unknown people in her home and with some other dogs when on walks.
