Biography:
Unfortunately, Scooter was found abandoned by a dumpster at my girlfriend’s place of work. I decided to take her in with hopes of finding her a loving home! She is very social with my other dogs and is always playful and affectionate. You’ll often find her trying to crawl into your lap (more like your skin!) the moment you sit down. Scooter is looking for a caregiver who can love her as much as she can give. She has some dry skin, but a spoonful of coconut oil in her kibble has helped curb her irritation and itching. Scooter can be a lazy couch dog but also loves to get outside and run. She has a cute and funny habit of trying to trick you—she’ll come up to you, then quickly dodge or roll away. I work from home, so Scooter typically hangs out in my office with my other dogs, Loki and Luna. She enjoys staring out the window and “protecting the homestead.” She has spent plenty of time with my 12-year-old nephew and is obsessed with him. Younger children would need to be tested, as she sometimes gets a little too excited trying to show affection. Scooter can be a bit uncomfortable around intact female dogs, but nothing has escalated to aggression. She is house-trained (no accidents inside) and understands basic cues like sitting, though she is a little shaky with direct commands like “sit” or “lay down.” She tends to find a spot to lie down rather than following the exact command. She is not spayed, and I do not have her full history since she was abandoned. When I first rescued her, she showed some fear with barking and whining, but she settled within a day. Her dry skin on her lower back has improved significantly with a couple of weeks of coconut oil in her food. Scooter is loving, playful, and funny, and she’s ready to find a forever home where she can give all her love.
