Pet’s Name: Lucky
Biography:
Lucky was rescued from West Virginia in February 2023 around 6 months old. He was previously hit by a car while living there and had surgery to repair his hind right leg. The surgery did not repair it, so his leg is still not in great shape, but it has not slowed him down from running and playing. We got his weight corrected since he was malnourished there and gave him some medications to help him along. He now has a healthy weight and no longer needs any pain medications. Lucky is a sweet and loving dog, he loves all attention he can get. Unfortunately, he gets jealous when our older dog gets attention and on a few occasions he attacked him. Lucky would thrive in a house as an only pet. We also have small children, which Lucky has never showed any aggression or ill behaviors towards them, he has a few times knocked the toddler over due to clumsiness so he would be best in a house without young kids. He loves to play and sometimes doesn't know his limits. Lucky loves to play fetch and will return the ball to his best friend and loves to go for walks. He loves to chew, initially he chewed whatever he could get, but he has improved with his selection and will typically go for only his toys now. He currently sleeps in his crate and does well in there, especially if there is a soft pillow for him to lay on. He loves to eat and receive treats, and has never showed any aggression if taken away or anyone is near his food. He really is a happy and loving dog but would be well suited for a house with no other pets, no small children, and preferably in a house with a fenced yard since he is used to that and enjoys the outdoors.
